We link FBOs to markets

We teach FBO leaders the Value Chain approach and commercial pricing techniques in order to maximize profits. They are taught how to analyze market prices and access market information.

Furthermore, FBO leaders  are taught how to negotiate with commercial buyers in a manner that improves their bargaining power. We also teach basic contracting rules and the importance of adhering to buyer specifications including delivery/pick up schedules; grading; and quality specifications.

FBO leaders are also taught how to understand and negotiate payment arrangements with commercial buyers; as well as how to disburse proceeds of sales to individual members after deducting credit advances.

FBO leaders and members are also trained extensively on the importance of group savings, and all members are trained to participate in participatory vetting to determine which members qualify for input credit.
