Atebubu, July 10, 2012: African Connections Ghana Limited (AC) has taken delivery of thousand of bags of Pannar 53 Maize seeds, four (4) tractors and other implements for the SADA-AC Maize Project in Northern Brong Ahafo.

The project is funded by SADA and is being implemented by AC in the Atebubu-Amantin, Sene and Pru districts of the region.

The seeds are to be distributed on credit to all farmers taking part in the project for 2012 farming season.

The tractors on the other hand will be used to plough farm lands of project participants in the districts.

Dr. Ayesha Hakeem, Managing Director of AC said the arrival of the seeds and tractors indicates that the project has begun.

Dr. Hakeem noted that farmers will have to be trained on the planting protocols of the Pannar 53 maize seeds before they embark on their own planting.

She said this was necessary to ensure that farmers achieve maximum results.

"Pannar 53 is of the highest quality and has it own planting, fertilizer application and weed control protocols which must be followed in order to improve yieldsā€¯, she emphasized.
